According to the Penang Heritage Trust, there are about 4,655 shophouses with 500 abandoned homes in various zones in Georgetown that needs restoration. The recent 2009 Budget has allocated rm50 million Ringgit, in the hope of improving the image of Penang as a destination site. It was indeed timely but whether it's enough or not it's definately better than nothing

qayoyo Asri....you are making my ayag liog meleleh. Bangkok Lane mee ni kalau I tak kena everytime balik Penang....macam tak sah trip tu. Macam sembahyang Jumaat tapi tak dengaq Khutbah!!! Mamak botak ni got a brother who opened a restaurant in Taman Danau Desa. Tapi selagi ayag dari Penang... depa tak bawak ke KL ni ....rasa mee tu tetap tak sama ;-) Selamat Puasa to the whole family.

theori ayak penang tu memang betoi kantoi. pasai professor kat usm tu pun tak dapat nak cari punca sebenak pasai apa makanan penang sedap secara scientific. tapi depa tu pun lidah dua star saja, mana depa nak tau. ada atu lagi sebab kari nasi kandak penang sedap ......KUAH SERATUIH TAHUN. (periuk dengan kuah belen (balance) depa tak basuh. depa tambah kuah baru. ha, itu juga.
anyway, bulan posa ni hampa kena try buka posa dengan ROTI BENGGALI KUAH KEMARIN......kat datuk keramat. Ha!..lagi sempoi da dey. can you kira...

I had been to Georgetown Penang for a field trip in 1999. We had so much fun doing the sketching and sanpping lots of photos for our Interior Architecture project.
I still travel to Penang few times a year.
Loving it.

Occasionally, I open up my sketch pad and the photos that I had sanpped just to reconnect the old memories.
